Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 18, 2026

Kello is a Canadian AI receptionist service operated by NextWave Tech Inc. This policy explains what we collect, why, where it lives, and your rights — for both business owners who subscribe and the callers and customers who interact with a Kello-answered number. We follow Canada's federal privacy law (PIPEDA).

The plain-language version: when Kello answers a call or text for a business, the conversation is processed by AI in real time and transcribed so the business owner can see what happened, bookings can be made, and the service can improve for that business. Data is stored in Canada. We don't sell anyone's data, ever, and we don't use your conversations to advertise to anyone.

1. What we collect

2. What we use it for

We do not sell personal information, share it for advertising, or use one business's private data to serve another business.

3. AI processing — honestly stated

Conversations are processed by large language and speech models (currently Google's Gemini) to hold the conversation, transcribe it, and summarize it. AI output can contain errors; that's why bookings are confirmed by text and owners receive full summaries. Audio is processed in real time to run the call; transcripts and summaries are what we keep.

4. Where data lives, and who touches it

Our database is hosted in Canada (Montréal region). To run the service, data passes through a small set of service providers under their own security and privacy commitments:

ProviderRole
SupabaseDatabase hosting (Canada)
Google (Gemini)AI conversation, transcription & summaries (processed in the U.S.)
TelnyxPhone numbers, calls and SMS delivery (U.S./global carrier network)
StripePayments and subscriptions
Fly.io / CloudflareApplication and website hosting

Because telephony and AI providers operate partly outside Canada, some data is processed outside Canada in transit; it is protected contractually and technically, and stored at rest in Canada.

5. Retention

We keep conversation records while the related business account is active, so owners keep their history and their receptionist keeps its memory. When an account closes, we delete or anonymize its conversation data within 90 days, except records we must keep (like billing) for legal purposes.

6. Your rights (PIPEDA)

Business owners and callers alike can ask us to access, correct, or delete their personal information: email hello@kello.ca and we'll respond within 30 days. Callers can also ask the business they called, and we'll help the business honor the request. If you're unsatisfied, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

7. Texting and consent (CASL)

Kello sends transactional texts only — replies, booking confirmations, reminders, summaries, invoices — not marketing blasts. Reply STOP to any Kello number and it will stop texting you.

8. Security

Access to production data is limited and credential-protected; secrets are vaulted; webhooks are cryptographically verified; databases enforce row-level security. No system is perfectly secure — if a breach ever affects your personal information, we'll notify affected users and the regulator as PIPEDA requires.

9. Cookies & website

kello.ca serves no advertising trackers. We use only what's needed to render the site (including fonts served by Google Fonts).

10. Children

Kello is a business service and isn't directed at children.

11. Changes and contact

Material changes will be posted here and announced by text to subscribers. Questions or requests: hello@kello.ca.
